Developmental Editing
This is the first phase of editing your writing. Think of DE as a high-level editorial process that focuses on the big picture of your story. In this editing process, we will evaluate structure, plot, character development, POV, pacing, and how well the story overall holds up.
An important phase that every writer should consider by the third or fourth draft of your story, whether it be a novel, short story, fiction, or non-fiction of any topic, developmental editing aims to provide concrete direction on overall improvements to your manuscript.
We’ll work together to ensure your manuscript represents your best work!
The fee is negotiated up front and is based in part on how far along the manuscript is when editing commences.
Average fees range between $10-$15 per page.
Copy Editing
Once your manuscript is complete and you believe your story is the best it can be, the next step in your journey is copy editing. This is not proofreading!
Copy edits will refine your manuscript for accuracy, technical consistency, clarity, grammar, punctuation, adherence to style, overall readability, and flow, while ensuring your voice comes through on every page.
The fee is negotiated up front. Fees range between $0.02 and $0.05 per word.
At White Tara, we work with several highly skilled and experienced graphic design artists who will collaborate with you to design the book you’ve always imagined.
The designer will create a book cover with your input and transform your manuscript into a beautiful interior. You will have continual input on images, font, and special touches you may desire.
Fees are negotiated up front and based on estimated hourly output.
Hourly fees range from $75.00 to $150 per hour dependent upon the complexities involved.
Book Design
Other Services
ISBN - Own your ISBN! This allows you to publish your work across multiple platforms. We will set up ISBNs for each version of your book - Ebook, printed, or audio freeing you up to write! $50 per ISBN
COPYRIGHT - Safeguard your hard work against infringement. Plus, copyrighted work provides you as the author further credibility. We register your book title, author name, and publication year and provide you with the certification. $85
LIBRARY OF CONGRESS - Another perk for the self-published author that adds credibility to your author profile is registering your finished work with the Library of Congress. We handle the registration process and provide you with the number assigned to your book. When your book is finally published, we will send a hard copy to the library.
$90 does not include the cost of the printed book or shipping.
